Welcome to Ilongga.net, Shirley Parabia‘s blog on the Philippines, Filipinos and “Pinoy” popular culture.
I have long since wanted to make a website on the Philippines and all its cultural nuances. What is so interesting is that there are a lot of Filipinos like myself living outside the country. I wanted to capture the overall Pinoy spirit from this international, expatriate perspective. What’s more, I also wish to showcase my hometown, Iloilo City. I finally got around to creating this blog on 28 May 2021. Ilongga is a term used to refer to a female from Iloilo, a province in the Western Visayas region of the country, the capital of which is Iloilo City.
